Trasimeno Valley: Surrounded by the verdant green hills that are typical of the Umbria-Tuscan border, it is in the center of one of the richest parts of Italy. It is rich in natural beauty, history, art, culture and local traditions. Its artist heritage alone is from oldest medieval art through the renaissance and baroque.
In a short time, guests can reach the cities of beautiful art: the capital of Perugia, Assisi (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Gubbio, Cortona, Arezzo, Florence and Orvieto. Our local town of Panicale is known as the “balcony of Trasimeno” for its panoramic views of Trasimeno Lake below. It is the land of artists and royal commanders, who preserved intact its historic and authentic castle structure. Preserved within its churches are the masterpieces of Perugino and Raffaello and the tradition of tulle (an ancient refined embroidery on lace net). The Cesare Caporali Theatre is a jewel of an opera house, an architectural rarity, with wooden horseshoe structure and decorated with artistic plaster (a mini-La Scala).
